Looking for muvee autoProducer 6?

The earliest code in the muvee autoProducer family dates back to 2000 and it uses Microsoft's Directshow Editing Services (DES) as its main video rendering engine. That is the part of the code that supports many of the video effects, transitions and real-time preview capabilities. DES is a great library, however, we quickly outgrew its capabilities and found ourselves having to compromise on product features.

Around 2005, we realized that DES was not going to be able to support the types of features we knew consumers would want, like HD support, 3D effects, Full Screen Preview at FULL resolution running at 30 frames per second. (DES was only able to give us 320x240 preview at a 12 FPS… which meant the slow, romantic videos in the Cherish pack, for example, would have a jerky preview and potentially other issues).

So, we developed our own muvee Editing Services (mES) which routes the heavy video computation via the GPU (Graphics Processor). This gives us superior video performance without taxing the CPU. It also gives us a superior platform on which we can continue to innovate and improve upon to bring ever more exciting features to our customers.

The biggest drawback however, is that all legacy Styles which used DES are not compatible. There is no simple way to "convert" these Styles. It’s like having a Ferrari engine in a Chevy. When you upgrade to the Ferrari, the Chevy parts won't work.

More Control

On top of magicMoments and magicSpot, you can now boost the audio levels of particular clips, add Captions which automatically animate, and easily split your long videos into clips for easier manipulation.

Major Step Forward

muvee Reveal X is NOT an upgrade from muvee autoProducer 6. It represents a major step forward with a totally re-written codebase from the ground up. It also means that Styles from the autoProducer family of products will not be compatible with muvee Reveal. Sometimes we have to learn from the past to move ten steps ahead.
