muvee Device Solutions Group Demos New Social Media PhotoStory Application for Android at CTIA

Pulls Photos from Multiple Sources, Presents them in a Live, Interactive Slideshow

ORLANDO, FL – March 23, 2011 – muvee Device Solutions Group [DSG], the pioneer and leader in video editing applications for mobile devices, today announced that it will demonstrate its new Social Media PhotoStory application for Android operating systems at its CTIA App Pod #2895A this week.

The latest Android application from DSG takes social photo sharing to a new level, making it easy for tablet and mobile users to view live, interactive slideshows with photos pulled directly from the mobile device as well as social media sites including Facebook, Flickr, and shwup.  Metadata is pulled from photos where applicable including comments, likes and photo locations and is only available in full-screen mode.  Music can be added from the device as well and incorporated in to the live slideshow.  A real-time Twitter feed and the date and time are displayed within the moving background.

Users have the option to select photos from personal Facebook albums, friends’ albums and from personal shwup albums as well as albums the user has been invited to view.

Facebook reports that by the end of 2010, 60 billion photos have been uploaded to its site and that uploads average 2.5 billion per month.  The social network expects to reach 100 billion photo uploads by this summer.   Flickr has also experienced steadily increasing uploads had its 5 billionth photo uploaded in September 2010.

“Photos have become a quick and personal way to update friends and family,” said Terence Swee, Founder and CEO, muvee.  “However, due to the immense volume that’s shared today, users don’t have enough time to consume all this content.   Our Social Media PhotoStory app addresses this problem by automatically pulling photos from various sources and presenting them in an unobtrusive, yet professional-looking, slideshow.  Users can reach out and touch on any individual photo to find out more, or can just let it slide by until the next interesting shot comes along.”

The application has two modes that determine which photos are used.  The “reminisce” mode pulls past photos, including your oldest albums.  The “update” mode will select photos only from the past week. These modes allow the user different experiences while helping them discover new content within their online sphere of influence.

The app is now available for license to handset makers, operators and tablet docking accessories manufacturers.  For more information, please visit
