muvee Technologies Joins Symbian Platinum Program

muveeStyles for Symbian OS smartphones let camera-phone users create and share stylish, personalized mobile "muvees" out of their video and pictures

Singapore and New York –– August 02, 2007 – muvee Technologies, the pioneer and global leader in Instant Personal Video, has joined the Symbian Platinum Program to support the growing market for smartphones based on Symbian OS™. As a Platinum Partner, muvee is extending its automatic video production technologies to the Symbian OS ecosystem, thereby enabling camera-phone users to quickly and easily style raw video clips and pictures into fun, personalized “muvees” on their mobile phones.

Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the operating system that powers today's most popular smartphones. Symbian OS is licensed by the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers and in 2004, more than 14 million phones based on Symbian OS were shipped worldwide.

"muvee is the frontrunner in automatic video production and this partnership reflects our intent to continue building upon our mobile strategy," said Dr. Pete Kellock, founder and CEO of muvee Technologies. "By becoming a Symbian Platinum partner, we not only enable even more camera-phone users to instantly create compelling video productions, but also strengthen our relationships with smartphone manufacturers, application developers, users and network operators.”

muveeStyles are themed production templates, and each style has its own effects, transitions, graphics, music and editable text messages that can be applied to video clips and pictures to instantly and automatically create fun muvee productions on the phone itself. muveeStyles are compatible with the Nokia Movie Director application, which muvee Technologies developed for Nokia. The Movie Director application is currently embedded into Nokia's 7610, 3230, 6630, 6670, 6680, 6681, 6682, N70 and N90 models based on Symbian OS, and t here are over 100 muveeStyles available for download directly from www.muvee.com/mobile.

“The openness and flexibility of Symbian OS allows us the opportunity to bring Instant Personal Video to any number of smartphones based on Symbian OS after their manufacture. We are excited at the opportunity to build on the great functionality of Symbian OS smartphones to make muvees more ubiquitous and personal than ever before,” Dr. Kellock added.

“Enabling users to get creative with their multimedia and communicate in a more fun and meaningful way has become a fundamental requirement for today's smartphones,” said Alan Roderick, head of partner marketing, Symbian. “We are pleased to have muvee Technologies join the Symbian Platinum Program and bring its Instant Personal Video technology to the Symbian ecosystem.”
